What will this Blog be?

Hello there. Thanks for stopping by.

What is this place? Well, right now, not much. But hopefully, within the next few months, it will become a place for you to return to time and again to learn all about boats and boating.

Having completed and passed my Yachtmaster Offshore (Power) I am now continuing on my teaching journey. I am doing my Cruising Instructor in October and also my PWC and Advanced powerboat Instructor this year.

I am also hoping to complete the shorebased Nav, VHF, First Aid, Radar and Diesel Engine Instructors tickets within the next 18 months prior to my move to the Isle of Wight.

That is what this Blog is for. In my pursuit of knowledge, I tend to head down rabbit holes in my research. And for my brain to fully grasp these things Iā€™m learning, I need to either write them down or create pictures or videos of concepts. This will be a place for me to publish those things. And hopefully for you to learn more and become better skippers.

So what type of things will I be putting up?

Well, stuff that grabs my interest or, if someone asks a question, I will deep delve into the answer.

There is so much I am aiming to write about. Things like RYA theory, hulls and engines, navigation, cruising stories, Colregs, life on the Thames, and anything else sailing and powerboat related that I can find.

So why not mark this page and come back regularly. It will start off slow as I start researching and building posts, animations, videos and more. But in time I hope it will become a valuable resource for you.
